
Leon Named ACC Co-Field Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Louisville women's track and field athlete Gabriela Leon has been named the ACC Women's Co-Field Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference office today.
The redshirt senior shares the honor with Duke senior Isabel Wakefield. The Grand Rapids, Mich. native last earned ACC Performer of the Week honors on Apr. 28, 2021.
Leon established a new women's outdoor pole vault school record with a height of 4.55m (14-11) in the university elite section of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Mar. 23. The height currently ranks second in the nation, is tied for 15th on the all-time NCAA performers list and stands tied for 32nd as an all-time NCAA women's pole vault performance. The mark surpassed Leon's previous personal best and school record of 4.28 meters (14-0.5), which she set at the 2021 Clark Wood Invitational.
Louisville will be back in action at the Tennessee Relays from April 7-9 in Knoxville, Tenn.
