
Cardinals Set to Host No. 15 Virginia and Virginia Tech

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team will welcome No. 15 Virginia and Virginia Tech to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center this weekend to continue conference play.
The Cardinals will face Virginia on Friday at 3 p.m. and t-shirts and coozies will be available for the first 20 fans. Louisville will welcome Virginia Tech on Sunday at noon. Admission is free for both matches.
Louisville (8-6, 0-5 ACC) is coming off a 5-2 win over Xavier on Mar. 18. Tatiana Simova leads the team in singles with nine wins and the pair of Simova and Di Palma lead the team in doubles with an 8-2 record. Head coach Mark Beckham is in his 14th season at the helm.
No. 15 Virginia (11-4, 3-3 ACC) fell 1-6 to Miami on Mar. 20. The Cavaliers have three players ranked by the ITA, led by Emma Navarro at No. 3 with a 11-1 record. Navarro and Amber O'Dell lead the team in doubles with a No. 10 rankings and a 6-1 record. Head coach Sara O'Leary is in her fifth season.
Virginia Tech (5-10, 1-5 ACC) is coming off a 4-3 loss to Florida State on Mar. 20. The Hokies are led in singles by Erika Cheng with seven wins and Semra Aksu who has won her last four matches. The duo of Annie Clark and Katie Andreini lead the team in doubles with six wins. Head coach Terry Ann Zawacki-Holdren is in her 19th season at the helm.
