
Cardinals Set To Compete in Three Meets This Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track and field team is set to compete in three separate meets this week. The Cardinals will travel a total of 18 athletes to the Texas Relays, Bobcat Invitational and Raleigh Relays from Mar. 24-26.
Aliyah Welter and Auriane Viola will be the first athletes in action, taking part in the women's pole vault at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas at 3:30 p.m. ET. Thursday. Welter, one of nine athletes headed to Austin, earned her first collegiate win last weekend at the Tiger Classic. Trey Allen will close out action for the Cardinals at Mike A. Myers Stadium in the men's high jump at 3:45 p.m. ET Saturday. The meet's event opened Wednesday with the women's heptathlon at 11:00 a.m. ET and will conclude with the women's 4x400-meter relay at 5:50 p.m. ET Saturday.
Ian Kibiwot, Emma Bryant, Albert Kosgei and Ryan Farrell will compete at NC State's Raleigh Relays Friday and Saturday in Raleigh, N.C. The meet will open with the men's 1500-meter at 4:45 p.m. ET Thursday and close out the with the 4x400-meter relay at 6:10 p.m. ET Saturday. Bryant will open the meet for the Cardinals in the women's 15000-meter at 4:25 p.m. ET. Friday, while Farrell close out action with the his 800-meter outdoor debut at 4:20 p.m. ET Satruday. Kosgei is set to make his outdoor debut in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase after participating the event at the 2021 NCAA Track and Field Championships.
Louisville will send six athletes to Texas State's Bobcat Invitational Thursday and Friday in San Marcos, Texas. Ben Ewert and Isaac Kiprop will be first to compete for the Cardinals in the men's 5000-meter at 8:10 p.m. ET Friday. Je'Nyia Burton and Katie Martin will close out the meet for the Cardinals with their 200-meter outdoor debuts at 5:30 p.m. ET Saturday. The meet's events kick off with the women's javelin at 10:00 a.m. ET Thursday and conclude Saturday with the men's 4x400-meter relay at 7:05 p.m. ET.
