Cardinals Open Outdoor Season at Tiger Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track and field team opens the outdoor season this weekend when they compete in the Tiger Classic Mar. 18-19 at the Hutsell-Rosen Track in Auburn, Ala.
Action starts Friday with the men's hammer throw at 3:00 p.m. ET with the women's 5000-meter kicking off the day's track events at 8:00 p.m. ET. Friday's competition concludes with the men's 5000-meter at 9:05 p.m. E.T. Saturday's field events open at noon eastern time with the women's pole vault, while track events are set to start with the women's 4x100-meter at 1:30 p.m. ET. The meet will close out with the men's 4x400-meter at 5:40 p.m. ET. Live results will be provided through Delta Timing.
Louisville will be one of 16 teams competing over the two-day event and will be joined by programs from the SEC, ACC, and Sun Belt conferences.
The Cardinals are coming off a successful indoor season that saw Gabriela Leon, Trey Allen, and Sterling Warner-Savage earned All-American honors in their respective events at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Championships. As the team transitions to the outdoor season, the Cardinals return all four qualifiers, Allen, Albert Kosgei, Adar Sheere, and Aliyah Welter, from last year's 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
