Cardinals Fall at Vanderbilt

UofL wins doubles point
The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 6-1 at Vanderbilt Sunday afternoon in Nashville.

The Cardinals grabbed the doubles point to start the day. The pair of Andrea Di Palma and Tatiana Simova won 7-5 at No. 2 over Andessa Lee and Yufei Long. Dina Chaika and Chelsea Sawyer took down Marcella Cruz and Dasha Kourkina 6-4 at No. 3 to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead going into the singles.

The Cardinals were swept in singles although two matches went into three sets, including Sawyers 7-6, 6-7 (2-7), 10-5 effort.

The Cardinals return to the friendly confines of the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center to face the Ball State Cardinals in a rescheduled match slated for 3 p.m.
