
Cardinals Set to Open ACC Play Against No. 14 Duke and No. 1 North Carolina

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's team opens ACC play this weekend at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center where the Cardinals will face off against two top-15 opponents in No. 14 Duke and No. 1 North Carolina.
The Cardinals host Duke on Friday at 4 p.m. and will face North Carolina on Sunday at noon. Admission is free for both matches and masks are required for fans in attendance.
Louisville (7-1) broke into the latest ITA team rankings at No. 68 and is coming off two impressive performances last weekend, defeating Austin Peay 6-1 and Bellarmine 6-0. The pair of Andrea Di Palma and Tatiana Simova remained perfect in doubles play and Tyra Richardson continued to build off her season debut with two more wins in singles.
Duke (4-1) is coming off a 6-1 win on the road against Furman. The Blue Devils feature seven players who were ranked in the final ITA singles and doubles rankings for the fall season led by Chloe Beck, who currently ranks No. 15 in singles. Head coach Jamie Ashworth is in his 25th season for Duke.
North Carolina (11-0) will travel to play Notre Dame on Friday before facing the Cardinals. The Tar Heels are coming off their third consecutive ITA National Team Indoor Championship, defeating Oklahoma 4-2. The team has five ranked singles players on its roster and the No. 1 doubles team in Fiona Crawley and Elizabeth Scotty. Brian Kalbas is in his 19thseason as head coach of the Tar Heels.
