LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville plays its first of three straight on the road as the Cardinals visit the North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, N.C., on ESPN's Big Monday at 7:01 p.m. ET.
Louisville snapped a seven-game losing skid to beat Clemson 70-61 in the KFC Yum! Center last Saturday as the Cardinals held a 36-33 rebounding advantage, collected eight steals (most in seven games) and shot 45.6 percent from the field. Â Noah Locke led UofL with 15 points in the victory, his 16th double figure scoring effort this year, including three of the last four games. Â He needs 14 points for 1,200 in his career.Â
In his first start since Jan. 29, Malik Williams had his best outing in five games against Clemson with 12 points, five rebounds and two steals. Â It was his first start since Jan. 29. Â He has scored in double figures in five of his last seven games. Â Williams is fifth in the ACC in rebounding (8.1 rpg) and 35th in the nation in defensive rebounding (6.4 per game). He has made 37.5 percent of his three-pointers in ACC games (15-of-40). Â
North Carolina (19-8, 11-5 ACC), tied for third in the ACC standings, has won three of its last four games, including a 65-57 victory at Virginia Tech on Feb. 19 in its last outing as Caleb Love led the Tar Heels with 21 points and seven assists.
North Carolina leads the ACC in rebounding margin (+7.3, 14th in the nation). Forward Armando Bacot (16.1 ppg, 12.2 ppg.) is fourth in the nation with 20 double-doubles this season, including 12 points and 15 rebounds at Virginia Tech in his last game.
