Cardinals Roll Past Austin Peay and Bellarmine
February 19, 2022 | Women's Tennis
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's team defeated Austin Peay 6-1 and Bellarmine 6-0 in a doubleheader on Saturday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"Today was good, two clean wins, we had not put together a clean team effort yet this season. There were one or two spots that were not quite what I was looking for but for the most part, it was probably the best performance we had of the year, head coach Mark Beckham said. "Going into next week with conference play is going to be tough, probably going to have a top 15 team in Duke on Friday, lot of opportunities there individually and as a team. On Sunday, we're going have the number one team in the country in North Carolina coming here so it doesn't get easy from here on out. We'll have a good week of practice and get ourselves prepped and see if we can pull off some upsets next weekend."
Louisville will host No. 12 Duke on Friday at 4 p.m. and will face off against No. 1 North Carolina on Feb. 27 at noon.
