LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville plays its second straight at home and one of two remaining home games this season as the Cardinals face the Clemson Tigers on Saturday at 3:04 p.m. ET. The game will be UofL's Kids Day event, with more information available here.
Louisville dropped its seventh straight in falling 70-63 to Miami on Wednesday in the KFC Yum! Center as Dre Davis matched a season-high with 18 points to lead the Cardinals. Â Louisville trailed by 12 points in the first half and closed to within three with 1:10 remaining before Miami pulled away. Â It was the first career start for JJ Traynor, who scored two points and grabbed a career-best seven rebounds. Â Traynor was part of the 13th different starting lineup for the Cardinals this season.Â
Davis' scoring effort marked his ninth game this season in double figures and third in the last five games. He has averaged 10.4 points over the last five games since, returning from an ankle sprain on Jan. 18 to play in the last seven.
Clemson (12-14, 4-11 ACC) has dropped its last five games, falling 81-80 at Florida State on Feb. 15 in its last game as sophomore forward PJ Hall led the Tigers with a career-high 28 points.
Clemson is fifth in the ACC and 42nd nationally in three-point field goal percentage, burying 36.7 percent of its shots from long range. Â Hall is the Tigers' top scorer (16.0 ppg, 8th in the ACC) while guard David Collins is third in the ACC in steals (1.7 per game).Â
Louisville has a 7-4 series advantage over Clemson (6-0 in Louisville). Â The Tigers have won the last two matchups, including a 54-50 decision over UofL at Clemson last season (1-27-21) as Carlik Jones led the Cardinals with 11 points as the lone UofL player in double figures and Jae'Lyn Withers pulled down 12 rebounds with seven points.Â

- Louisville grabbed 10 offensive rebounds against Miami, its fifth straight game and 13th this season with at least 10.
- Clemson and Louisville met in the second round of the 2006 postseason NIT when UofL won 74-68 in Louisville's Freedom Hall as Taquan Dean led the Cardinals with 20 points (3-20-06).
- Clemson assistant coach Kareem Richardson was an assistant at Louisville for one season when the Cardinals posted a 35-5 record and won the NCAA Championship (later vacated). Â He left UofL to become the head coach at Missouri-Kansas City (2013-19).
