
Chaussee Named an AVCA First-Team All-American; Four Cards Win Awards

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 4-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team placed four players on the AVCA All-American Team with Claire Chaussee being named an AVCA First Team All-American.Â

Chaussee is joined by All-American teammates Elena Scott, who earned Second Team honors, Amaya Tillman, who earned Third Team honors, and Raquel Lazaro, who earned Honorable Mention honors.Â

Chaussee Named First Team All-American
Chaussee, the 2022 ACC Player of the Year, makes her first appearance as a First Team All-American and Louisville's third overall. The East Region Player of the year was a four-time ACC Player of the Week and was named National Player of the Week. Last week, she was voted to the Louisville All-Regional team as she helped Louisville advance to the Final Four. She was named ACC All-Preseason and leads No. 4 ranked team in kills and attacks. She was named to last year's All-Louisville Regional team, HM AVCA All-East Region team.

Scott Named Second Team All-American
First Team All East Region Team member Elena Scott leads the Cards in digs and is fifth in the ACC. A superb passer, she has only been aced 15 times this season in 361 attempts. Last year she was only aced six times in 417 attempts for a career mark of 21 of 771 for a .972 recept pct. She has 21 double digit dig matches with 9 matches of 15-plus digs and five with 20-plus digs. She was named to the All-Cardinal Classic and was named to the ACC All-Preseason team. As a former high school setter, she is second on the team in assists with 115.

Tillman Named Third Team All-American
First Team All East Region Team member Amaya Tillman leads the conference in blocks per set with 1.48, totaling 157 on the season. The two-time ACC Defensive Player of the Year (2020 and 2022) is tied for sixth nationally in blocks per set and tied for 25th-most blocks this season. She posted a season-best 10 blocks against Pitt and registered 16 games with five or more blocks.

Lazaro Named HM All-American
First Team All East Region Team member Raquel Lazaro, a graduate transfer, amassed 1075 assists this season running Cardinals' offense, averaging 10.05s assists per set. With six double-doubles this season, Lazaro recorded a season-best 57 assists in Louisville's five-set comeback over Georgia Tech. The Málaga, Spain, native helped lead the Cardinals to their third consecutive league title.
