December 13, 2022 | Field Hockey
The University of Louisville's Julie Kouijzer and Aimee Plumb have earned the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-America honors as announced by the organization today. Kouijzer was selected to the second team while Plumb was named to the third team.
This marks the eighth straight year the Cardinals have placed at least two players on the All-America teams, a streak which dates back to the 2015 season.
Â
Kouijzer takes home her second straight All-America honor after registering a career-best six goals while helping the Cardinals defense produce five shutouts on the season. The senior defender from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 6 and was selected to the NFHCA Senior Team. The team co-captain and four-year starter is also a three-time All-West Region honoree and two-time All-ACC selection.
Â
Plumb earns All-America honors for the second straight year. The junior forward from Canterbury, Kent, England led Louisville in scoring with a career-best eight goals, seven assists and 23 points. Five of her eight goals stood as game winners, ranking third in the ACC in that category. Plumb is also a two-time NFHCA All-West Region and All-ACC selection and was named to the 2022 NFHCA Preseason Watch List.
