Elliott Tabbed NFHCA Division I National Defensive Player of the Week

The honors continue to add up for University of Louisville goalkeeper Sasha Elliott who was named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The graduate senior, who was also named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday helped the Cardinals to a 2-0 record on the weekend. Elliott (Amsterdam, The Netherlands)
registered a 0.44 goals against average with a shutout and an .875 save percentage.

In Friday's shootout win over No. 24 Duke, Elliott collected five stops – two of which came in the second overtime period. She also came up big with three stops in the shootout, turning back three Blue Devil attempts after surrendering a goal on Duke's initial try. She leads the nation with an .846 save percentage on the season.

The fourth-ranked Cardinals (12-3, 1-3 ACC) will return to action next weekend when they hit the road to face Syracuse on Friday and Cornell on Sunday.
