
Elliott Earns ACC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C.–  University of Louisville goalkeeper Sasha Elliott was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week on October 18, marking her second league weekly honor of the season.

Elliott posted a 0.44 goals against average with a shutout and an .875 save percentage to help the seventh-ranked Cardinals to a 2-0 record on the weekend. In Friday's shootout win over No. 24 Duke, Elliott collected five stops – two of which came in the second overtime period. She also came up big with three stops in the shootout, thwarting three Blue Devil attempts after surrendering a goal on Duke's initial try. The grad student from Amsterdam leads the ACC with an .846 save percentage.

The Cardinals (12-3, 1-3 ACC) will return to action next weekend when they hit the road to face Syracuse on Friday and Cornell on Sunday.
