
Louisville Set to Host PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track and field team hosts the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational Saturday, Jan. 29 at Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center.
The field events start with the women's weight throw at 10:00 a.m., while the track events will open with the women's 60-meter at 2:00 p.m. The meet concludes with the men's 4x400 meter relay at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to spectators, but fans not in attendance can follow the live stats link attached above. Parking will be five dollars per person with a maximum charge of 15 dollars per car.
The Louisville men's track and field team was ranked 24th in the first installment of the USTFCCCA's Indoor Track and Field National Rating Index Monday. Louisville will welcome 14 other programs this weekend, including Notre Dame's No.15 men's and No. 22 Vanderbilt women's team.
The Cardinals are back in action following impressive performances at last weekend's Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. Gabriela Leon set a new school record with a height of 4.42m (14-6), which ranks second nationally, in the women's pole vault, while Sterling Warner-Savage and Isiah Pantiere each finished in the top-four in the men's 60-meter to highlight the first day of competition.
In day two, Paul Kallenberg finished second in his men's heptathlon collegiate debut with 5594 points. The freshman's mark stands third nationally and the second-best performer mark in program indoor history. The women's 4x400 meter relay team of Katie Martin, Kiyah Yeast Je'Nyia Burton, and Taylor Boggess closed out meet with a second-place time of 3:44.85 to earn the program's fastest time in the month of January. In all, 16 athletes established personal best marks over the multi-day event.
