
The Cards Return to the Course at the William Tucker Intercollegiate

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – – The University of Louisville men's golf team returns to the course on Friday and Saturday as it competes in the 66th William H.Tucker Intercollegiate. The event at the 7,555-yard, par-72 UNM Championship Course is free for spectators to attend.
The first two rounds of the tournament will be played on Friday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. The final round will be Saturday, starting with a 7:45 a.m. shotgun start. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.
This year's tournament features players from 19 schools. Joining the Cardinals are BYU, Colorado, Denver, Dixie State, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, Loyola Marymount, Nebraska, New Mexico, New Mexico State, North Texas, San Diego, Santa Clara, UNLV, UTEP, VCU, Wyoming and an individual from Texas.
The Cardinals will feature a lineup of Jiri Zuska, Chris Francoeur, Hugh O'Hare, Walker Franklin, and Jackson Brimfield.
In its first tournament last week, Louisville carded an 11-under-par on the final day of the tournament to finish in fifth place at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Cardinals shot a combined 26-under-par (273-272-269=814) to finish 18 shots off the lead of ACC foe Georgia Tech, which won the tournament at 44-under-par. Clemson finished at shot behind the leaders at 43-under-par and Auburn was third at 31-under.
All six players who competed for the Cardinals shot even-par or better.
The William H. Tucker Intercollegiate dates back to 1955 when the Lobos won the inaugural event. New Mexico has won the event 14 times, including the last time it was held in 2019. Last year's event was cancelled due to the pandemic, marking the first time the event had not been held since it was established.
