
Schneider Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville's Meghan Schneider has been named to the 2021 Academic All-District® At-Large Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). She eligible for Academic All-America® consideration which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
To be nominated for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00 and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution.
Schneider, a field hockey player from San Diego, California, was the 2020-21 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Scholar Athlete of the Year. She also became the first player in program history to earn the Elite 90 Award for the 2020-21 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship, posting the highest GPA (4.0) of the participating semifinal teams and was a finalist for the 2020 NCAA Honda Award for Field Hockey. Additionally, she garnered NFHCA All-America honors and is a two-time NFHCA All-West Region selection. She was also named to the 2020-21 Division I Senior Team selection.
The three-year starter and team co-captain helped the Cardinals to 17 shutouts over the last four years – including a 1-0 win against No. 6 UConn in the NCAA quarterfinals to send Louisville to the NCAA Semifinals for the first time in program history.
Schneider earned her bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in Spanish and is a two-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree and has been a member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll in each of her seasons at Louisville.
