Men's Tennis Adds Etienne Donnet to 2021-22 Roster
July 07, 2021 | Men's Tennis
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rodrigo da Silva has announced that Etienne Donnet will join the team for the 2021-22 season after transferring from Oklahoma State.
"We are very excited to add Etienne to our roster," said da Silva. "He is going to bring a lot of experience after playing in the Big 12 Conference and we are ready to take his tennis to new levels."
Donnet, a native of Lyon, France, helped Oklahoma State reach the second round of the 2020-21 NCAA team championship, collecting seven dual match wins on the season, including a victory in the Cowboys' first round NCAA matchup against Navy.
As a freshman, he went 5-2 in singles, most notably clinching the match in the Cowboys' upset of No. 4 Michigan in February of the COVID-19 shortened 2020-21 season.
Oklahoma State finished the 2021 season at No. 22 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association team rankings and was a mainstay in the top 25 throughout Donnet's two seasons there, reaching as high as No. 14 in 2020 and 2021.
Donnet was a 2020 ITA Scholar Athlete and a first team Academic All-Big 12 selection.
"I chose Louisville because I had the feeling when I talked to the coaches that it was for me the best where I could go to improve my tennis game," said Donnet. "The coaches seemed so motivated that it gave me a lot of excitement coming here."
