
Three Cardinals Earn All-ACC Honors on Final Day of ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships

RALEIGH, N.C. – The University of Louisville track and field teams tallied three all-ACC performances and five personal bests on the final day of the 2021 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at NC State's Paul Derr Track and Field Facility in Raleigh, N.C. The women and men each finished in tenth place with 38.5 and 36 points respectively.
Saturday Highlights
The women turned in three career-best performances and added three names to the Cardinals' record book. In the 5,000 meters, all three competing Cardinals raced to personal bests with Purity Sanga clocking in at 16:15.18 to finished 13th and place fourth on Louisville's all-time list. Ivine Chemutai's career-best mark of 16:36.02 was good for 21st place and stands 11th in the Cardinals' record book. Bailey Beery turned her best time of 16:38.19 to finish 22nd.
Brooke Raglin's time of 11.62 in the 100m finals stands tied for ninth in Louisville's record book.
On the men's side, a trio of Cardinals registered all-ACC performances.
In the high jump, Trey Allen cleared 2.15 on his third attempt, finishing fourth and earning second team all-ACC honors. Luke Nichols registered a season-best mark of 2.10m en route to a seventh-place finish.
In the discus throw, Adar Sheere led a quartet of Cardinals with a throw of 182-8 for a sixth-place finish to earn all-ACC second team honors.
Sterling Warner-Savage's time of 10.41 in the 100m finals was good for a sixth-place finish and all-ACC second team honors.
Running in his first 5000m of the outdoor season, Shadrack Kipkosgei finished 18th with a time of 14:02.91 which stands ninth on Louisville's all-time list.
The men's 4X100m relay team of Isiah Pantiere, Sterling Warner-Savage, Jeremiah Willis, Tkai Wade ran a season-best time of 40.54 to finish sixth.
