Sweeney Named All-ACC as Cardinals Complete Competition at ACC Championships

Cardinals finish seventh at ACCs
The University of Louisville won two Petite Finals and McKenzie Sweeney earned Second Team All-ACC honors on the final day of racing at the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference Rowing Championships on Lake Hartwell Saturday morning in Clemson, S.C.

No. 3-ranked Virginia won all five grand finals to claim its 11th consecutive ACC Rowing championship.
Virginia posted 99 points for the win, ahead of Duke (84), followed by Syracuse (81), Clemson (63), Notre Dame (54), Miami (40), Louisville (29), Boston College (24) and North Carolina (19).
 In the first race of the day for the Cardinals, the Second Varsity Four boat won the Petite Final with a time of 8:02.954.

In the Grand Final of the First Varsity Four, the Cardinals crossed the finish sixth with a time of 7:50.772.

The Cardinals' Second Varsity Eight finished second in the Petite Final boarding a time of 7:04.439.

The First Varsity Eight boat fended off a late challenge by Boston College, cruising to the win of the Petite Final with a time of 6:48.174.
