UofL Field Hockey Alumna Nicole Woods Named to FIH Hockey Pro League Traveling Roster

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Former University of Louisville field hockey standout Nicole Woods has been named to the U.S. Women's National Team Pro League travel roster.

After 819 days without a game, the U.S. Women's National Team will return to the pitch mid-May for the continuation of the 2020-21 FIH Hockey Pro League season. USWNT Head Coach Anthony Farry and coaching staff have named the 25-athlete traveling roster that will head to Europe for the four remaining matches.

Woods played for the Cardinals from 2014-17. The Beverly, Mass., native earned 2017 National Field Hockey Coaches' Association All-America honors and was a three-time NFHCA All-West Region selection. As a senior co-captain, she tallied 19 points (6G, 7A) while helping Louisville (14-8) reach the finals of the ACC Championship for the first time since joining the league in 2014. The three-time ACC selection was a four-year starter is a three-time All-ACC selection.

She has tallied 42 caps after being named to the USWNT in the spring of 2017. She helped the USA qualify for the World Cup by capturing the gold medal in the 2017 World League Semifinals. Since graduating from Louisville, helped the USWNT earn a bronze medal in the 2017 Pan American Cup and has competed in the USWNT series against Ireland, The Netherlands, Chile and Argentina, Belgium and the Four Nations Women's Ibaraki International Tournament.
