No. 50 Cardinals Set to Host No. 11 Georgia Tech and Clemson

ACC play continues as the Cards near the Tournament
Louisville, Ky.- The No. 50 ranked Louisville women's tennis team kicks off a three-match home stand of the regular season by welcoming No.11 Georgia Tech and Clemson to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center this weekend.

The lineup features the No.27 ranked doubles pair of Raven Neely and Tatiana Simova. The combination has been a problem for opponents all season, compiling an 10-5 record from the No.2 spot. In singles, Chelsea Sawyer and Rhea Verma have eclipsed the 10-win mark, while No 93 ranked singles Andrea Di Palma and Neely are on the cusp of the accolade with nine wins each.
No. 11 Georgia Tech enters Friday's match after dropping back-to-back conference decisions for the first time this season. With the most recent loss to Syracuse, the Yellow Jackets move to 12-9, 5-5 in ACC conference play. After the Yellow Jackets battled back to even the score at three, the latest match came down to No.13 Victoria Flores and Syracuse's No.23 Vikotryia Kanapatskaya at No.1. Flores was able to claim the initial set, 6-4, but Kanapatskaya responded by taking the next two to clinch the win. The program boasts the No.1 ranked doubles pair of Flores and Kenya Jones, while also having a ranked trio of No.2 Jones, No.13 Flores and No. 99 Gia Cohen in singles play.

Clemson is set to play two conference road matches this weekend. Coming into the weekend 7-13 overall, 1-9 in conference play, the Tigers open the road trip in South Bend before traveling to Louisville on Sunday. The lineup features a pair of ranked singles players in No. 55 Eleni Louka and No.73 Jenna Thompson. Thompson looks to extend a team-high 11 wins this season, including a 3-1 mark at No.1.
