
Women's Indoor Track and Field Finishes in Top 20

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's track and field team completed an impressive 2021 indoor season with a top-20 finish in the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships which included a national title in the women's weight throw and three All-Americans.
Senior Makenli Forrest emerged as the NCAA weight throw champion with a new school record and 2021 collegiate-best mark of 23.26 (76-03.75) and earned her third straight All-America honor.
Also in the weight throw, senior Halee Hudson earned second-team All-America status after finishing 11th with a throw of 21.05 (69-075).
After matching a school record in a silver medal showing in the pole vault at the ACC Indoor Championships, junior Aliyah Welter earned second team All-America status at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The junior notched her second-best performance of the season with a height of 4.16m (13-7.75) to finish in 13th place.
On the men's side, Sterling Warner-Savage represented the Cardinals by establishing a school record and earning first team All-America honors in the 60m. Warner-Savage set a school record in the 60m prelims with a time of 6.62 to advance to the finals where he ran his third-best time of the season at 6.67. The redshirt sophomore owns Louisville's top 10 times in the 60m.
