Cardinals Set for Doc Hale Elite

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's and women's track and field teams will return to action this weekend when the Cardinals travel to Blacksburg, Va., for the Doc Hale Elite Meet.

The two-day meet will feature 10 schools including Louisville and host Virginia Tech as well as Boston College, Duke, Iowa State, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Tennessee and Virginia. For live results, please visit here .

In their most recent competition, Louisville swept then Notre Dame Invitational on January 27. The men won with 128 points, while the women tallied a score of 121.5 in the triangular meet which also featured host Notre Dame and Pittsburgh. The Cardinals totaled 13 wins on the day, with the men picking up seven and the women collecting six.

For the men, Isiah Pantiere collected a pair of wins on the day. Â The redshirt freshman paced the 60m field with a time of 6.99. He collected his second win of the meet with a time of 21.74 in the 200m.
• Adar Sheere's personal-best mark of 19.99m (65-7) gave the junior his third straight win of the season in the weight throw.
• Senior Cade Richeson won the men's shot put with a throw of 17.37m (57-0).
• Sophomore Cayden Spencer-Thompson won the triple jump with a leap of 15.21m (49-11) while sophomore Jonah Hyde registered a personal best jump of 13.28 (43-7) to finish second.
• The Cardinals swept the high jump with redshirt freshman Trey Allen's mark of 2.11m (6-11) taking first place.

On the women's side, the Cardinals freshman Ariel Lawrence continued her impressive season with a pair of wins on the day starting with a mark of 5.72m (18-9.25) in the long jump. Lawrence collected her second win of the meet with a career-best mark of 12.21m (40-0.75) in the triple jump.
• Senior Makenli Forrest, and current ACC Co-Field Performer of the Week,  continued her dominance in the weight throw, tallying her third straight win of the season in the event with a season-best mark of 22.16m (72-8.5) which currently stands at third in the nation.
• Senior Gabriela Leon led the way in the pole vault with a mark of 4.08m (13-4.5).
• Senior Brooke Raglin won the 60m with a time of 7.59.
• Freshman Kiyah Yeast led the 200m group with a time of 24.74.

Following this weekend's meet, the Cardinals will return to action on February 12 when they travel to Nashville for the Music City Challenge.
