Louisville Baseball Ranked Sixth in USA Today Sports Coaches Poll

The Cardinals were one of four teams to receive a first-place vote.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program was sixth in the preseason USA Today Sports coaches poll released on Thursday.
The Cardinals have been ranked seventh or better in five of the six major preseason rankings, including a No. 2 ranking by Perfect Game.
Florida is once again the top-ranked team in the poll, followed by UCLA, Vanderbilt, Texas Tech and Ole Miss. Louisville, which was one of four teams to receive a first-place vote, is the highest ranked of seven ACC teams in the top 25.
UofL heads into the 2021 season after posting a 13-4 record in the shortened 2020 season and finishing second in the polls when the season came to a close.
Head coach Dan McDonnell begins his 15th season with starters returning at six positions and 12 of 14 pitchers back from one year ago.
Louisville will open the season on Feb. 19 with the first of three against Bellarmine at Jim Patterson Stadium.
