Carlik Jones Named to Naismith Trophy Midseason Team

Cards' scoring and assists leader is one of two ACC players on the 30-man team
ATLANTA – University of Louisville guard Carlik Jones has been named to the midseason team for the 2021 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy for Men's Player of the Year presented by the Atlanta Tipoff Club, as announced on Thursday.
Jones and Pitt forward Justin Champagnie are the only two ACC players represented on the 30-person list.
Jones leads the Cardinals (11-4. 6-3 ACC) and ranks fourth in the ACC in scoring (17.4 ppg) and third in assists (4.9 apg). He has 97 career double-figure scoring efforts, including the last 37 consecutive games (all 14 at UofL). He has 30 career games with 20 or more points (four of the last eight).
Jones ranks 12th in the nation in career assists among active players with 537 (68 at Louisville, 469 at Radford) and is 13th nationally among active career scorers with 1,796 points (244 at UofL, 1,552 at Radford). He needs four points for 1,800 in his career. He has collected 15 steals in the last seven games.
Jones has also recently been included on The Sporting News Mid-Season All-America team and the Late Season Top 20 Watch List for the John R. Wooden Award presented by Wendy's.
