
Louisville Baseball to Host Virtual Leadoff Dinner

The event will be streamed Monday, Feb. 8 at 7:00 p.m. on the Louisville Baseball Facebook and Twitter pages.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program will host the 2021 Leadoff Dinner presented by Republic Bank virtually Monday, Feb. 8 at 7:00 p.m.
With the COVID-19 pandemic limiting in-person events, the annual event will be streamed on the Louisville Baseball Facebook and Twitter pages. The online event is free to the public and no registration is necessary.
Sean Moth, longtime radio voice of Louisville baseball, will serve as the host of the event, which will include comments from head coach Dan McDonnell and UofL Vice-President/Director of Athletics Vince Tyra, as well as interviews with seniors Adam Elliott and Luke Smith, and 2020 World Series Champion and Cardinal Forever Will Smith.
The 2021 baseball season begins on Friday, Feb. 19 for the Cardinals, as they play host to Bellarmine in the first of a three-game series at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Since its debut in 1996, the Louisville Baseball Leadoff Dinner helps launch the baseball season by bringing some of the biggest names in the game to the Derby City. Last year's event was headlined by a pair of Cardinals alumni in Tampa Bay Rays left-handed pitcher and first baseman Brendan McKay and catcher Will Smith from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Other previous guests include Adam Duvall, Jose Bautista, Josh Hamilton, Andy Pettitte, Joe Girardi, Derek Jeter, Don Mattingly, Alex Rodriguez, Tino Martinez, Scott Rolen, Tommy Lasorda, Chad Green, Chris Coghlan, Jeff Francoeur, Sean Green, Nick Swisher, Adam Wainwright, Chris Burke, Chris Dominguez, Justin Marks, Trystan Magnuson, Zack Cozart, B.J.
