
Bitting, Kouijzer Named to ACC Field Hockey All-Tournament Team

The University of Louisville's Alli Bitting and Julie Kouijzer were named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey All-Tournament Team for their performances in the semifinal game against Virginia.

Bitting, the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, registered Louisville's only goal, tying the game in the fourth quarter. Fellow All-ACC first team selection, Kouijzer recorded a defensive save in the contest. Both players were instrumental in the Cardinals' defense which held the Cavaliers to one goal - on a penalty stroke through 80:00 minutes which included regulation and two overtime periods.

Fourth-ranked Louisville (16-3) earned the ACC Regular Season title after compiling a 6-0 record in conference play during the season. The Cardinals will find out their NCAA postseason tonight at 10 p.m. on the NCAA Selection Show which will air on NCAA.com.
