Louisville will play its second of two exhibition games in preparation for the 2021-22 season as the Cardinals face the West Georgia Wolves on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET.
UofL played its first outside competition of the season in a 94-45 exhibition victory over Kentucky State on Oct. 29. Â Noah Locke's 15 points led six Cardinals with nine or more points as 11 players saw between 10 and 23 minutes of action. Â Albeit an exhibition, UofL made 10-of-23 threes in the game; the Cardinals made no more than eight threes in a game last season. Â Louisville held a commanding 62-28 rebounding advantage, including gathering 23 offensive rebounds and the Cardinals gathered 12 steals. Â
West Georgia posted a 14-8 record during the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 season, finishing third in the Gulf South Conference East division with a 12-6 mark. Â The season featured a 10-game winning streak for UWG and saw the Wolves win their first NCAA Regional game in six years, defeating Valdosta State 79-75 on their home floor.
Two Cardinals produced double-doubles against Kentucky State, with one more very close. Â Jae'Lyn Withers totaled 14 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, Samuell Williamson added 13 points and 10 rebounds off the bench, and Malik Williams just missed the feat with nine points and nine rebounds.
Sydney Curry was productive with his 12 minutes, gathering five points, seven rebounds and two steals against Kentucky State. Â Jarrod West added a game-high four assists with five points and two steals. Â Matt Cross blocked three shots in the game; he had seven swats in 14 games at Miami last season.
Louisville has won its last 38 straight in-season exhibition games, a span stretching the last 20 years (since 2001). Â The Cardinals last dropped an exhibition game on Dec. 2, 2000 when falling 87-86 in double overtime to a Global Sports team in Freedom Hall.

- West Georgia is the 12th different school that UofL has faced in an exhibition contest over the last 17 years, when exhibition games began featuring non-Division I schools as opponents in 2004. Â UofL has won its last 38 exhibitions, including 32 against those lower division colleges.
- Wednesday's game will be the first meeting between Louisville and West Georgia. Â Louisville has an all-time 25-15 record against universities in Georiga, with the bulk of that coming against ACC member Georgia Tech (23-14). Â The Cardinals have also previously faced Georgia (1-1) and Mercer (1-0) from the Peach State.
- The Wolves have made 18 NCAA Division II Tournament appearances, including advancing to the Elite Eight in 2012.
- West Georgia head coach Dave Moore is in his fourth season with the Wolves with a 40-39 record. Moore served as an assistant coach at St. Bonaventure (2007-18) and Robert Morris (2006-07) before his current position.
