
Zuska Leads the Cards at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE – Jiri Zuska carded a 3-under-par 69 to lead the University of Louisville men's golf team to ninth after the first round at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, played at the par-72, 7,700-yard Blessings Golf Club.
The Cardinals finished the day in ninth place after shooting a 9-over-par 297 to enter round two 19 strokes off the lead. Arkansas (-10) holds a seven-shot lead over second place Mississippi, which fired a 3-under-par 285.
Zuska, who finished second at 10-under-par in the last event, continued his hot streak by recording six birdies during his round to enter the second round of play in a tie for second place -- two shots off the lead.
Chris Francouer is tied for 16th place after shooting an even-par 72. The senior birdied three of his first nine holes to shoot 1-under on the front nine before going one-over-par on the back.
Max Kennedy carded a 5-over-par 77 to sit in a tie for 41st place and Walker Franklin shot a 7-over-par 79 to break the top 50. Hugh O'Hare rounded out the top five by sitting in 51st place following his round of 82.
Day two of the three-day event is set for Tuesday with 18 holes of play. Louisville will tee off at 11:15 am (CT) on hole number 1. GOLF channel coverage is live from 3-6 pm (CT).
