October 24, 2021 | Women's Golf
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team concludes the fall season at the Olde Stone Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Ky.
The inaugural field features 14 teams, 10 of which are inside the Golfstat Top 100.
This will be the first time WKU Women's Golf has hosted a full-field tournament at the par-72, 6,235-yard club. The Lady Toppers and Cardinals have faced off in the match-play Battle of the Bluegrass event at Olde Stone for the last two seasons. WKU's most recent tournament at the club was when men's golf hosted the Kenny Perry Invitational in 2016.
The Cards are one of 14 teams in the competitive field. Louisville, which is ranked in the top 35, is set to compete amongst No. 40 Oklahoma, No. 50 Augusta, No. 58 Coastal Carolina, No. 64 Charlotte, No. 69 North Texas, No. 73 Wisconsin, No. 80 Notre Dame, No. 84 Middle Tennessee and No. 98 Minnesota.
After notching a win at the Illini Invitational last week, the Cardinals will send out Lauren Thibodeau, Kendall Griffin, Hana Ryskova, Carmen Griffiths and Mairead Martin for the last event of the fall. Griiffin finished second overall to pace the Cards as they battled Georgia for the playoff win.
The public is invited to spectate the event on Monday and Tuesday at Olde Stone. The field will start in a shotgun format at 8:45 a.m. CT on both days, playing 36 holes continuously on Monday followed by the final round on Tuesday.
