Kennedy Shoots 68 to Lead Cards at the Bank of Tennessee

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team shot a 29-under-par to tie for second place at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Blackthorn Club at the Ridges.

East Tennessee State won the title by six strokes at 35-under-par over Louisville and Charlotte, which tied for second at 29-under-par. Ben Carr of Georgia Southern won the tournament at 13-under-par.

Jiri Zuska posted his third-straight top-10 performance by finishing in a tie for seventh place with a 9-under-par 207. He carded a 68-68-71=207 for his second-best round of the fall.

Max Kennedy and Pierce Grieve each fired a 5-under-par 210 to place in a tie for 15th place. Kennedy had the round of the day for the Cardinals after shooting 68 on Tuesday. Â The freshman posted five birdies and just one bogey for the day, while Grieve carded a final round 73.

Chris Francoeur tied for 24th after shooting 76-67-69=212 for a total of 4-under-par. Over the final two days, the senior was eight-under-par to creep into the top 25. Nick Tenuta finished the tournament in a tie for 62nd with a 4-over-par 220.

Playing as an individual, Walker Franklin tied for 62nd after shooting a 220.

The Cardinals will close the fall season at the Williams Cup in Wilmington, N.C., on Oct. 25-26.
