Cardinals Achieve Impressive Results in the Classroom

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – While in the midst of a historic 2020 season, the University of Louisville field hockey team also produced impressive results in the classroom, posting a program-best 3.809 team GPA in the fall semester.
The Cardinals' fall academic result marks the 20th straight semester with a collective GPA of 3.0 or above, surpassing the previous high of 3.794 set in the 2020 spring semester.
Eleven student-athletes posted a 4.0 GPA, matching the program record set in the spring of 2020. Earning Dean's Scholar status for the Cardinals are: Mia Duchars, AnnMarie Habelow, Paulina Mayer, Sam Minrath, Mercedes Pastor, Camryn Pichea, Aimee Plumb, India Reed, Meghan Schneider, Minna Tremonti and Madison Walsh.
Additionally, 26 players posted a GPA of 3.0 or better, earning spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. Twenty-two players achieved Dean's List status with a GPA of at least 3.5.

The University of Louisville field hockey team finished the 2020 season with an 8-2 overall record including a program-best 5-1 mark in ACC play. The Cardinals earned the No. 1 seed in the ACC championship for the first time in program history and posted a runner-up finish after falling to North Carolina.
• Sophomore Julie Kouijzer, freshman Aimee Plumb and senior Mercedes Pastor were named to the ACC All-Tournament team.
• Justine Sowry is in her 10th season at the helm. During her time at Louisville, she has guided the Cardinals to 131 wins, five NCAA tournament appearances along with two conference titles and a pair of runner-up finish in the ACC Championships.
• The 2020-21 spring schedule is still being finalized and will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
