
Louisville Wraps Up the Weekend at the Hokie Invitational

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The University of Louisville wrapped up a successful weekend at the Hokie Invitational in Rector Field House. On the day, eight Cardinals recorded personal best performances.

"We saw continued progress today in many areas," said head coach Dale Cowper. "The heptathlon stands out to me as a highlight. Micah has done a tremendous job of making progress over the last 10 months and it really showed this week. The high jumpers, 200-meter group, and shot putters also showed considerable progress from last week."

Junior Micah Oberhausen led the Cardinals with a second-place finish in the men's heptathlon after tallying a personal-best 5,248 points. In Saturday's events. Freshman Justin Lehmkuhler finished ninth in his first collegiate heptathlon with 4,519 points.

The Cardinals produced two top-four finishes in the men's high jump. Sophomore Cayden Spencer-Thompson placed second with a personal-best mark of 2.11m (6-11). Fellow sophomore Trey Allen jumped a season best 2.08m (6-9.75). Junior Aaron Johnson recorded a personal best of 2.00m (6-6.75) for an eighth place showing.

Sophomore Isiah Pantiere placed fourth in the 200m with a time of 22.03.

On the women's side, the Cardinals once again achieved a pair of top-four finishes in the women's 200m. Freshman Kiyah Yeast finished second with a personal best time of 24.55. Senior Sharnae Alston finished fifth with a season-best time of 24.79. Freshman Jaelynn also achieved a personal best time of 25.50.

Senior Victoria Farley's season-best throw of 13.87m (45-6.25) was good for fifth place in the shot put.

Freshman Kambi Walker finished sixth in the high jump after a personal-best leap of 1.64m (5-5).

The Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invitational. competition against Notre Dame and Pittsburgh in South Bend.
