Cardinals Shoot Top Round on Tuesday to Finish Eighth at the Camp Creek Seminole Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's golf team shot an 11-under-par, the lowest round of the day, to finish eighth at the Camp Creek Seminole Invitational at the Camp Creek Golf Club on Tuesday.
Entering the day at 19-over-par, the Cardinals shot 277 to close the tournament in eighth place in an all Atlantic Coast Conference team event, just one shot back from seventh-place Georgia Tech. Florida State and Wake Forest tied for the tournament title at 22-under-par with Florida State.
The Cardinals were one of sixth schools to shoot under par, but their 11-under total was better than the Seminoles, who were at 10-under-par. John Murphy tied for the second-best round of the tournament by shooting a 6-under-par 66 and recorded seven birdies. The senior shot a 4-under 32 with five birdies on the front nine. He finished in a tie for 34th with a 76-79-66=221.
Playing as an individual, Hugh O'Hare posted the highest finish for the Cardinals at 24th, carding a 69-75-74=218. Jiri Zuska was solid on Tuesday to move all the way up to 20th after shooting a final round 68 end the tournament with a 72-77-68=217. Zuska carded a team best eight birdies, including six on the back nine. The senior shot a 2-over-par on the front nine, but was spectacular on the back by firing a 6-under-par 30.
Matthias Schmid and Trevor Johnson finished the tournament in a tie for 26th place after shooting 219. Schmid carded a 72-76-71, while Johnson shot 75-72-72.
Devin Morley rounded out the top five by shooting a 78-75-75=228.
The Cardinals return to action at the All-American Invitational in Humble, Texas, on Feb. 14-16.
