April 14, 2020 | Field Hockey
The Atlantic Coast Conference announced in February that the University of Louisville field hockey senior Carter Ayars was named a recipient of the 2020 Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship Award. Ayars, along with fellow UofL student-athletes Melanie McHenry (volleyball) and Grace Oglesby (swimming and diving) were among 50 student-athletes from throughout the conference to be honored at the annual Cone Health ACC Postgraduate Scholarship Luncheon presented by ESPN on Wednesday, April 8. Although the event was canceled due to COVID-19, the honorees were still able to be recognized via social media.

Each recipient will receive $6,000 toward his or her graduate education. Those honored have performed with distinction in both the classroom and their respective sport, while demonstrating exemplary conduct in the community.
