Cardinals Set Two School Records to Wrap Up the ACC Indoor Championship

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Louisville men's and women's track and field team finished the final day at the ACC Indoor Championships with two new school records. Overall, the Cardinals finished with four first team All-ACC honorees while 13 earned second team All-ACC honors.
The Louisville women finished seventh with 50 points while the men finished 10th with 24 points.
Sophomore Sterling Warner ran a personal best time of 6.68 in the 60 meter dash finals, finishing in fifth place. For the second straight day Warner broke his own school record of 6.69, set in the prelims. The sophomore earned second team All-ACC honors for the first time in his career.
Gabriela Leon also broke her former school record in the women's pole vault, clearing a personal best of 4.40m/14-5.25. The junior finished second, earning first team All-ACC honors for the second straight year. She has earned All-ACC honors for three straight years in the pole vault. She broke her previous school record of 4.32m/14-2 set at the Meyo Invitational earlier this month.
Aliyah Welter and Auriane Viola both earned second team All-ACC honors in the pole vault. Welter placed fifth with a personal best mark of 4.05m/13-3.50. Viola finished tied for sixth clearing the bar at 4.05m/13-3.50.
Christian Buckley tossed a personal best of 18.02m/59-1.50 to finish fourth in the men's shot put. Buckley earned second team All-ACC honors for the third straight year.
