TEAM RECORDS & SERIES NOTES

North Carolina won the tipoff.
The Cardinals improve to 23-5 on the season.
UofL is now 14-3 in ACC play.
- It's the first time they've been 14-3 to start conference play since 2014.
Louisville and UNC met for the 22nd time.
- The Cards cut the series to 7-15.
  - The ACC series is now tied 4-4.
- UofL improves to 5-2 at home against the Tar Heels.
- The win snaps a two-game winning streak by UNC.
- It's the fewest points allowed in the series in the shot clock era, and the fewest since the first game in 1929.
  - The previous fewest points allowed in the shot clock era was 62 in January of last season.
  - The 17-point win is UofL's second largest margin of victory in the series (20 points last season).
The Cardinals are now 67-30 all-time in February over the last 13 years.
UofL is now 22-12 all-time on February 22.
The Cards are now 161-26 all-time at the KFC Yum! Center.
UofL is now 56-16 in conference games at the KFC Yum! Center over the last six seasons.
- The Cardinals are now 41-13 at home in ACC games.
Louisville has beaten all four ACC schools from North Carolina in the same season for the second time.
- The Cards also accomplished it in 2015-16.
Louisville has won back-to-back games vs. teams coached by Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductees for the third time in program history.
- Connecticut and Syracuse Jan. 22-27, 2007; and Syracuse and Duke Feb. 17-20, 2016.
The game was the second highest attended home game this season (Michigan, 21,674).

TEAM NOTES

Louisville's starting five featured junior Malik Williams, freshman David Johnson, graduate transfer Lamarr Kimble, junior Jordan Nwora, and redshirt-senior Dwayne Sutton.
- It is the first time this season the Cardinals have used this starting lineup.
The Cardinals are now 377-56 when holding opponents under 70 points.
Louisville scored 36 points in both the first and second halves.
- It's the first time this season they've scored the same number of points in both halves.
The Cards held UNC to 23 points in the first half.
- It's the 11th time this season they've allowed 25 points or less in a half.
UofL went on a 17-0 run to close out the first half and begin the second half during a 7:28 run.
- It's the longest defensive scoring drought of the season for the Cards, topping the 6:57 run against Miami (Ohio).
- It tied the second longest scoring run of the season after a 20-0 run against Clemson on Jan 25.
- Louisville has now produced 45 runs of 8-0 or better on the season.
- The Cards have now forced opponents into 63 scoring droughts of 3:00 or longer.
Louisville finished with two blocks as it has now recorded a blocked shot in in 328 of its last 331 games.
The Cards out-rebounded North Carolina 38-29.

  - It's the seventh time in the last 10 games they've grabbed double-digit offensive boards.

UofL connected on nine three-pointers in the game, six of which came in the first half.

Louisville's defense held North Carolina to 39.6% (21-53) from the field.
- Over the last six seasons the Cards have held 80 opponents to under 40 percent shooting
- They also held them to 36% (9-25) in the first half.
  - UofL has held opponents to shooting 36% or less in 25 of 56 halves this season.
UofL's defense forced 17 UNC turnovers, the second most by an opponent this season (18, Georgia Tech, Feb. 12)
The Cardinals finished the game shooting 46.7% (28-60) from the field.
- It's the 21st time this season they've shot 40% or better in a game.

PLAYER NOTES

Jordan Nwora led the Cardinals with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and two steals.
- It's his fifth double-double of the season and 14th of his career.
- It's the 24th time this season he has scored in double figures.
- He's now recorded at least seven rebounds in nine of his last 11 games.
- It's the fifth time this season he's grabbed double-digit rebounds.
- His two steals tied a season high.
- He finished the game with three 3-pointers.
  - He now has 171 all-time, moving him into 11th place on Louisville's all-time list, surpassing Kyle Kuric.
Malik Williams finished with a season-high 17 points to go along with nine rebounds.
- Williams earned his second straight start for the Cardinals.
- He has scored in double figures in five of his last six games.
  - He finished in double figures for the 10th time this season and the 23rd time for his career.
- Has recorded at least nine rebounds on six different occasions this season.
- He played in a season-high 31 minutes.
Dwayne Sutton narrowly missed a double-double for the second straight game, finishing with eight points and nine rebounds.
- Sutton connected on a pair of three pointers and has now made at least two in three consecutive games.
David Johnson earned his second career start for the Cardinals, finishing with nine points and five assists.
- Johnson has tallied at least five assists on seven occasions, all of which have come in the last 11 games.
- He played a season-high 28 minutes.
Grant Williams and Hogan Orbaugh played in back-to-back games for the first time this season.
