- Starting guard was the only player in the ACC among the top 25 in both rebounding and assists, averaging 12.6 points, 3.2 assists (13th in the ACC) and 5.8 rebounds (22nd).
- Earned 2021 All-ACC honorable mention honors.
- Produced 14 points and a career-high matching 11 rebounds against Duke in the ACC Tournament for his third double-double of the season.

- Led the Cardinals with a career-high 19 points, seven assists and three steals at then-No. 3/3 Duke on Jan. 18, adding four rebounds and three dunks. His 19 points were the most by a Louisville player off the bench against an AP top-three ranked opponent since former All-America guard Russ Smith scored 30 points against No. 3 Kentucky in 2011.

- Produced his first double-digit scoring effort with 11 points, four assists and three rebounds at Pittsburgh in 20 minutes off the bench.
- Had surgery on his left (non-shooting) shoulder on July 30, 2019 and was out nearly four months. He made his first game appearance with 3 1/2 minutes against USC Upstate on Nov. 20, scoring his first collegiate points on a pair of dunks. He had practiced in non-contact drills since Oct. 22.

- A four-year starter at Trinity High School in Louisville, Johnson averaged 16.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and four assists as a senior while leading the Shamrocks to a 30-8 record and the Kentucky state championship. He was the MVP of the Kentucky Sweet 16 state championship, totaling 22 points, 12 rebounds, four blocked shots and two assists in Trinity’s victory over Scott County in the title game. He missed six games with a knee injury his senior year.

- Totaled 1,472 points and 719 rebounds in his career at Trinity as a four-year starter.
- As a junior, Johnson averaged 13.9 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 42.9 percent from three-point distance (54-of-126) in helping Trinity to a 30-4 record, the Seventh Region championship and a position in the Kentucky Sweet 16, earning first team all-state honors.
- Nearly produced a triple-double as a junior in the Shamrocks’ state tournament game against eventual runner-up Scott County when he totaled 14 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
- Third-team all-state selection as a sophomore when he averaged 10.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and shot 47.8 percent from the field, helping Trinity achieve a 29-4 record.
- As a freshman in 2015-16, aided Trinity to a 29-7 record and the 2016 27th District and 7th Region championships and the first round of the Kentucky Sweet Sixteen Tournament. He played in 31 games as a freshman and averaged 4.8 ppg and 4.5 rpg. He competed with the Louisville Magic AAU squad.
- Cousin of recent UofL forward Ray Spalding (2015-18), who played with the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns, and was also a product of Trinity High School.
- Narrowed his collegiate choices to also include Georgia and Xavier before choosing his hometown Cardinals.
