Â
Louisville
It could be said that the No. 24-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team was a bit slow start after dropping the first five sets of the season. A three set loss to No. 7 Florida was followed by the Cardinals falling behind 0-2 in the first two sets with Texas A&M before Louisville sprang to life and beat the Aggies 3-2 and then swept Dayton 3-0. UofL had a balanced offensive attack in its debut weekend, getting 31 kills from lone senior Melanie McHenry, 30 from Claire Chaussee and 28 from Aiko Jones, who was named to the All-Tournament Team. Freshman setter Shannon Shields had 64 assists and five aces and newcomer Anna Stevenson added six blocks and 19 kills. Â
