
Five Players Named to ACC All-Academic Team

Caroline Blalock has been named to the ACC All-Academic Team following her freshman and sophomore campaigns.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that University of Louisville women's lacrosse's Maddie Birch, Caroline Blalock, Tessa Chad, Ally Hall and Alex McNicholas were named to the All-ACC Women's Lacrosse Academic Team.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Chad graduated in the spring with a degree in sport administration. She had a 4.0 grade point average last semester and a career 3.509 GPA. She was named Athletic Director Honor Roll, Red and Black Scholar and Dean's Scholar.
She ranked first on the team, eighth in the ACC and 28th in the nation with 56 goals. Her 56 goals rank 10th all-time in a single season in UofL history.
Chad averaged 3.11 goals per game, which ranked seventh in the ACC and 35th in the nation. Her 25 free position goals led the ACC and rank second all-time in UofL single season history, while her 1.39 free position goals per game led the ACC and ranked eighth in the nation.
Birch recorded a 3.800 GPA in the spring semester and has a 3.691 overall GPA. She was named AD Honor Roll, Dean's List and Red and Black Scholar.

She led the ACC and ranked 55th in the nation with 1.50 caused turnovers per game, which also ranked seventh all-time in UofL single season history. In addition, she tied for the team-lead and ranked seventh in the ACC with 37 ground balls and her 2.06 ground balls per game also ranked seventh in the league.
Blalock recorded a 3.813 GPA in the spring semester and has a 3.724 overall GPA. She was named AD Honor Roll, Dean's List and Red and Black Scholar. She was also named to the ACC All-Academic Team last season.

Her 23 caused turnovers ranked third on the team, eighth in the ACC and tied for 10th in UofL single season history. She ranked fifth on the team with 20 goals, third on the team with 10 assists and fourth on the team with 30 points

Hall recorded a 3.880 GPA in the spring semester and has a 3.700 overall GPA. She was named AD Honor Roll, Dean's List and Red and Black Scholar.

She ranked second on the team with 28 goals, 12 assists and 40 points, while finishing the season with five hat tricks, which tied for second on the team. She led the team in goals in three games and led the team in assists five times.

McNicholas recorded a 3.881 GPA in the spring semester and has a 3.623 overall GPA. She was named AD Honor Roll, Dean's List and Red and Black Scholar.

She ranked second on the team with 49 draw controls, fourth with 23 goals and fifth with 25 points. She also led the team with a .857 shot on goal percentage. She tied a career-high with four goals at Butler.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
