
Schmid Earns All-ACC Accolades

Matthias Schmid owns one of the three individual wins this season.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville sophomore Matthias Schmid was selected to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference men's golf team, announced by the league on Wednesday.
Schmid earned all-league honors for the first time in his career after producing one of the best seasons in school history.
Playing in 12 events, Schmid has finished in the top in the top five on six occasions and produced nine top-10 finishes to pace the Cardinals to their 11th regional appearance which begins next week.
The native of Maxvette, Germany leads the country in birdies with 155 and owns one of the three individual wins over the course of the season. Schmid dominated the field at the Old Town Club Collegiate on Sept. 24-25, firing an 18-under-par 192 to earn his first career win.
Earlier this season, he opened the fall with a third-place finish at the Louisville Cardinals Challenge by firing a 10-under-par and also tied for third at the John Hayt in the spring.
During his second season, Schmid set the all-time season scoring average at 69.88, while also producing 17 rounds in the 60s.
The Cardinals return to action on Monday when they host the Louisville Regional at the University of Louisville Golf Club.
