Freshman Jiri Zuska led the way by shooting 10-over par.
JOHNSON, Arkansas - The University of Louisville men's golf team concluded its season by finishing in 29th place at the NCAA Men's Golf Championships at the Blessings Golf Course in Johnson, Arkansas.
The Cardinals finished at 68-over-par over the three days at the 7,550-yard course, shooting 313-302-317=932.
After shooting 14-over-par on Saturday, the Cardinals concluded the championship on Sunday by shooting a 29-over-par to finish just ahead of BYU.
Oklahoma State continues to lead after the third round of action at 12-under-par, while Texas and Stanford are tied for second place. The fourth round, which consists of 15 teams, will begin on Monday morning.
Entering the day in 28th place, the Cardinals were out of contention to advance, but head coach Mark Crabtree's young squad battled the difficult golf course, but finished with a disappointing final today.
"It's definitely not how we wanted to end the season," head coach Mark Crabtree said. "However, we had a great season with a lot of major accomplishments, and I'm happy for our guys. We took a huge step forward by getting to the championship, but now we need to take another step forward next season."
Freshman Jiri Zuska was the most consistent player for the Cardinals over the three days, finishing in a tie for 65th with a 10-over-par 72-77-77=226. He was even par on Friday, and shot 5-over during the next two rounds of play.
The native of the Czech Republic was 3-over-par on the front during Sunday's round, but responded with three birdies on the back nine. He would have had a solid round but lost five strokes on No. 12.Â
Devin Morley was also performing well on Sunday until he hit a road block on the final five holes.
A junior, Morley recorded birdies on No. 5 and No, 6 on the front, finishing at 2-over on the first nine holes. The Galway, Ireland native caught fire on the backside with three-consecutive birdies on No. 11-13. However, he gave it back after he recorded three double bogeys to shoot a 6-over-par 78. He ended the championship in a tie for 119th place by shooting 78-78-78=234.
Matthias Schmid, the nation's No. 21 player, concluded his sophomore season by carding a 9-over-par 81. He finished tied for 139th with a three-day total of 82-86-81=239.
Simon Zach, who replaced Trevor Johnson in the starting lineup, concluded his career by firing a 13-over-par 85.

The Cardinals' season comes to an end, but it was one of extreme success. Not only did the Cardinals advance to the national championship for the fourth time and secure
their 11th regional appearance, they finished the regular season by finishing no lower than fifth place in any event, securing one tournament win.
"This was a nice step for the program," Crabtree said. "Everyone performed really well and we became a very deep team. We have to look at the big picture and there are many good things to come next season."
The Cardinals return their entire squad next season with the exception of Zach, who graduated in May.
Additionally, Schmid, Murphy and were named to the GCAA Division I PING All-Region Team on Sunday.
