Louisville will send five athlete to compete in six events at the NCAA Championships

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of Louisville track and field team wrapped up the NCAA East Preliminary Round on Saturday afternoon at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. The Cardinals will send five student-athletes to Austin, Texas to compete in six events at the NCAA Championships.

To start the day, Cade Richeson launched a personal best throw of 18.11m/59-05 in the shot put. He finished 22^nd in the event. Also in shot put, Rashida Harris threw for 15.74m/51-07.75 to finish 24^th in her first preliminaries.

In the high jump, freshman Luke Nichols cleared 2.11m/06-11 to finish 25^th. Teammate Anthony McRoberts cleared 2.06m/06-09 to finish 31^st.

McRoberts also competed in the triple jump. He finished the day with a leap of 15.07m/49-05.50 to finish 29^th.

Five Cardinals (Ivine Chemutai, Makenli Forrest, Albert Kosgei, Gabriela Leon, and Martice Moore) will head to Austin, Texas to compete in the NCAA Championships on June 5-8.
