Luke Nichols Named ACC Men's Field Performer of the Week

Nichols' jump is currently ranked sixth nationally
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville freshman Luke Nichols was named the ACC Men's Field Performer of the Week. Nichols is one of four student-athletes that rank among the nation's top 10 in their respective events, highlighting the Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week selections.
Nichols led the Cardinals with a win in the high jump at the Louisville Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The freshman from Nitro, West Virginia, cleared the bar with a new personal best mark of 2.21m (7-03) that currently ranks sixth in the nation. It is the first weekly ACC honor for Nichols.
Clemson's Marcus Parker was named the ACC Track Performer of the Week, while NC State's Nevada Mareno earned ACC Women's Track honors. Miami's Michelle Atherley claimed the Women's Field Performer of the Week accolades.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Saturday, April 20 at the Kentucky Invitational.
