
Louisville Field Hockey Welcomes Julie Kouijzer

Kouijzer will join the Cardinals in the fall of 2019
University of Louisville field hockey coach Justine Sowry has announced that Julie Kouijzer has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to join the Cardinals in the fall of 2019. Kho is part of a class of seven newcomers who will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

Julie Kouijzer joins the Cardinals from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where she attends Keizer Karel College and plays for Pinoké U18 team. She is currently playing in the Super A league and has helped her team to the Dutch National High School championship and a fourth place finish in the Dutch Regional Indoor Championship. The midfielder/defender has tallied 61 assists and scored 18 goals while playing in the Pinoké club team since 2014.

Last season, while competing in the U18 National Elite League, she helped the team capture the Highland Indoor tournament title and post a second place finish in the Dutch Regional Indoor Championship.

The midfielder/defender was a member of the Pinoké U16 team from 2015 through 2017 and played in the Super B league (2016-17) and the National Elite League (2015-16). The team won the Dutch National High School Championship in 2017 and finished third in the Dutch Regional Indoor Championship.

Kouijzer began her career with Pinoké as a member of the U14 team which won first place in the Dutch Regional Indoor Championship while competing in the National Elite League. Additionally, her team finished fourth in the National Indoor Championship and posted a third place showing in the National Championship.
