
Four Cardinals Named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction

Meghan Schneider, Katie Schneider, Sam Minrath and Camryn Pichea earn national academic honors
The University of Louisville's Sam Minrath, Camryn Pichea, Katie Schneider and Meghan Schneider  were named 2018 Zag Tours National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Scholars of Distinction.
The Division I Scholars of Distinction program recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year. Louisville's four selection in 2017 are the most in program history. Additionally, this marks the seventh consecutive year that Louisville has had at least one player earn the honor.

This marks the second straight year that Meghan Schneider has earned the honor. The sophomore from San Diego, Calif. (Sierra HS) started all 19 games and helped Louisville post a 1.27 team goals-against average and produce five shutouts on the season.
Freshman Katie Schneider (San Diego, Calif./Sierra) played in 19 games with three starts. She stood fourth on the team with four goals.

Fellow freshmen Samantha Minrath (Louisville, Ky./Christian Academy) and Camryn Pichea (Louisville, Ky./Assumption) sat out this past season.
The Cardinals finished the 2018 season with a 13-6 overall record and ranked No. 14 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) poll after earning the No. 3 seed in the 2018 ACC Championship.
