
Men's Golf Wraps Up Spring Break at the Linger Longer Invitational

The field consists of seven teams that competed in the 2018 regional.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville golf team travels to Reynolds Lake Oconee for the annual Linger Longer Invitational Friday-Sunday, March 15-17. The 54-hole tournament is played on the Great Waters Golf Course, with a par-72, 6,991-yard layout.

Louisville will tee off at 9:15 a.m. for the first round of play on Friday. The Cardinals' roster for the Linger Longer Invitational remains the same as last week with Matthias Schmid, John Murphy, Devin Morley, Jiri Zuska and Trevor Johnson all competing in the three-day event.
The 2019 tournament field includes the 2018 Linger Longer Invitational champion Alabama, Augusta, Charlotte, 2018 runner-up Georgia, host Kennesaw State, Liberty, Mercer, Ohio State, Penn State, South Alabama, Tennessee, Toledo, UNCG and Virginia. Seven teams from the 2018 field advanced to the NCAA Regionals.

Morley tied his career-best round with a 66 on the final day of play to lead the Cardinals to a fourth-place finish at the General Hackler Championship at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C. last week.
The Cardinals finished the tournament with an 11-under-par 853 to end competition 10 shots behind North Florida, which won the championship with a score of 843. Fellow ACC member Wake Forest was second at 848 and Liberty was third at 849. The Cardinals, who entered the day at 14-under-par, struggled with a 3-over-par 291 to finish in the top five for the seventh-straight tournament this season.
Morley, who entered play at 5-over-par, equaled his round from the Louisville Cardinals Collegiate in September, by recording seven birdies on the day. He concluded the championship in a tie for 19th after shooting a 1-under-par 215.
The Cardinals were paced by Matthias Schmid's 13th-place ending, firing a 3-under-par 213 after shooting a 3-over-par 75 on Tuesday. Jiri Zuska also tied for 19th after also carding a 68-73-74=215.
