
Morley Ties Career High in Final Round the General Hackler Championship; Cards Finish Fourth Overall

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Devin Morley of the University of Louisville men's golf team tied his career-best round with a 66 on the final day of play to lead the Cardinals to a fourth-place finish at the General Hackler Championship at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Tuesday.
The Cardinals finished the tournament with an 11-under-par 853 to end competition 10 shots behind North Florida, which won the championship with a score of 843. Fellow ACC school Wake Forest was second at 848 and Liberty was third at 849. The Cardinals, who entered the day at 14-under-par, struggled with a 3-over-par 291 to finish in the top five for the seventh-straight tournament this season.
Morley, who entered play at 5-over-par, equaled his round from the Louisville Cardinals Collegiate in September, by recording seven birdies on the day. He concluded the championship in a tie for 19th after shooting a 1-under-par 215.
The Cardinals were paced by Matthias Schmid's 13th-place ending, firing a 3-under-par 213 after shooting a 3-over-par 75 on Tuesday. Jiri Zuska also tied for 19th after also carding a 68-73-74=215.
John Murphy and Trevor Johnson gave the Cardinals five golfers in the top 30 by finishing in 29th after concluding play with a 219.
The Cardinals return to action on March 15-17 at the Linger Longer Invitational in Eatonton, Ga.
