Alivia Ash Leads the Cardinals on Day Two of the ACC Indoor Championship

Ash wins her first ACC title in the high jump
BLACKSBURG, Va. – Louisville's Alivia Ash won her first ACC title in the women's high jump as the University of Louisville track and field team completed the second day of ACC action. After two days, the Cardinal women are in first place with 50 points while the men are tied for seventh with 15 points.
From the field, Alivia Ash cleared a personal best of 1.78m/05-10 to secure her first ACC title in women's high jump and earn first-team All-ACC honors. Renate van Tonder also received first-team All-ACC honors with a personal best mark of 6.21m/20-04.50 and third place finish in the long jump.
Gabriela Leon finished the pole vault in second place with a mark of 4.28m/14-00.50 to earn first-team All-ACC honors.
On the track, Dorcas Wasike finished the 5,000m in 16:06.99 to take runner-up honors after a tightly contested race. She earned first-team All-ACC honors for the second straight year.
Sterling Warner broke the school record in the 60m dash, crossing the finish line in 6.76. Warner broke Edmund Yeboah's record of 6.79 set in 2008 at the Big East Championships. Martice Moore qualified for the final round of 60m hurdles, clocking a 7.98 in the prelims.
Seven Cardinals earned second-team All-ACC honors. Dominic McClinton finished the heptathlon in sixth place with 4,819 points. Alexis Gibbons, Marcus Jegede and Leon each earned second-team honors in the long jump. Gibbons took fourth place with a leap of 6.19m/20-03.75, Jegede jumped 7.56m/24-09.75 for fifth place, and Leon's jump of 6.10m/20-00.25 for a sixth place finish.
Makenli Forrest and Mitchell Kessler earned the recognition in weight throw. Forrest finished with a mark of 20.71m/67-11.50 for fourth on the women's side and Kessler tossed a personal best 18.86m/61-10.50 to finish sixth on the men's side. Addie Wanner finished fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.64m/05-04.50.
The final day of the ACC Indoor Championships will begin at 12 p.m. tomorrow.
