
Men's Golf Five Shots Back of the Lead at the Molbile Sports Authority

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team opened the spring season where it left off by sitting in second place after two rounds of the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate on Monday in Mobile, Ala.
The Cardinals, who picked up a win and two second-place finishes in the fall, fired an 18-under-par 558 to end the round five shots behind Florida State, which shot a 23-under-par during its two rounds of action. Western Kentucky is third at 13-under-par and South Alabama is in fourth at 10-under par.
The Cardinals held a four shot lead after the first round, but the Seminoles battled back to pick up nine shots during the second round of action.
Devin Morley put together his best two rounds of play to finish in a tie for second place after two rounds -- four shots behind Jon Pak of Florida State, who carded an 11-under-par 133.
A native of Galway, Ireland, Morley fired an opening round of 67 by tallying birdies on four-straight holes on the front nine, including an eagle on the par 5 No. 4. He followed up his round with a 70 to shot a one-day total of 137.
Sophomore Jiri Zuska also ended the day in the top 10 by carding a 69-71=140 to finish in a tie for ninth place.
Senior Simon Zach is tied for 13th after his two-round score of 71-70=141, while John Murphy placed 17th after his 2-under 73-69=142. Matthias Schmid is tied for 24th after his 1-under-par 71=72=143.
Playing as an individual, Trevor Johnson is tied for 44th after his 72-75=147.
The final 18 holes will begin on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. ET.
